LONDON BRIDGE
HISTORICAL GHOST WALK
7/23/08
Were Baack. To our loyal fans and all of you who wanted to take the tour but
couldn't, we are deeply sorry for the interruption of the website and tours. Just
like most of you, the stressed economy has forced us to make some unforeseen
adaptations. The ridiculous gas prices have taken the opportunity for most, to see
our beautiful city. Thus unleashing its wrath upon small business's like ours.
Sadly we had to close our doors. Thankfully, encouragement from our friends at
Read Homes, the Visitors Ctr., and the high demand of those of you who
wanted to take the tour, has brought us back doing what we love to do. So thank
you everyone.
Currently we are only open on the weekends.
Prior engagements may apply so please call at
least a day in advance to schedule your tour.

Lion Fountain Restoration. The gorgeous lion fountain is a pivotal resident of
the English Village. Sadly it hasn't been in operation in 5 years. At our store The
Dungeon, we are constantly flooded with visitors who express how disappointed
they are to see this majestic beauty so lifeless. We at the London Bridge
Historical Ghost Tours completely agree. So we offered to volunteer our time
and energy to get this baby splashing again. Since Read Homes, the owner of
the property gave the o.k., Gary Asbury ( SirGothic ) has been on a personal
crusade to save the lion fountain. After several hours
of decoding a complex wiring
system, filtering out five years
worth of sandstorms and rocks,
Gary, along with help from the
spirits, has successfully resurrected
the fountain. The gallons of water
cascading so fiercely, gives the
sense that the lions are roaring
themselves.

Halloween, the name applied to the evening of October 31, preceding the Christian feast
of Hallowmas, Allhallows, or All Saints' Day. The observances connected with
Halloween are thought to have originated among the ancient Druids who believed that on
that evening Samhain, meaning 'summers end', called forth hosts of evil spirits. The
Druids customarily lit great fires on Halloween, apparently for the purpose of warding off
all these spirits. Among the ancient Celts, Halloween was the last evening of the year and
was regarded as a propitious time for examining the portents of the future. The Celts also
believed that the spirits of the dead revisited their earthly homes on that day. The Roman
harvest festival is held on November 1 in honour of Pomona, goddess of the fruits of
trees. The Celtic tradition of lighting fires on Halloween survived until modern times in
Scotland, Wales and Scunthorpe, and the concept of ghosts and witches is still common
to all Halloween observances.
Thank you Jayne Hanson for writing a wonderful article about the ghost tour in
Todays News-Herald. It was a beautiful spread and got a lot a people talking and more
importantly, calling.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are grateful for our family, health, life, and love.
We are very thankful for still being in business in these tough times.
Especially since we are a small fish in an even smaller pond watching
whales become extinct. You can let the struggling economy smother
your spirit or you can flourish in the light it brings to the basic things that
really matter. Love, Laugh, Live
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
There was such a great turn out for the Boat
Parade of Lights. The London Bridge Resort
did an amazing job with their lights this year. The thousands of candy colored lights
synchronized perfectly to classic Christmas music. Everyone in the Village did their part
to spread Christmas cheer and bring in the new year right. If you didnt make it to the
Festival of Lights this year, then definitely pencil it into your new calendar for the next.
Its one of the best times to see the London Bridge. Not just due to the glitter of Christmas
but its not hot as the surface of the sun, and on the right gloomy day, the London Bridge
looks reminiscently at home.
12/08 Out with the old and in with the new. 2009 looks very promising for the English
Village already. Thus hopefully our beautiful little city will flourish as well. The West
family sold Action Adventure to the owners of the Dreamcatcher across the river. Which
means the "Dreamcatcher" boat to the casino has moved from docking at the Island to
doing business in the English Village. Already we have seen an increase in sales and
locals are revisiting the shops under the towns treasure once again. If your interested in
taking a tour of the lake, getting a great view of Lake Havasu, getting a bite in a glass
walled restaurant or trying your luck at the casino, catch the "DreamCatcher" by using
the parking lot off London Bridge Rd. across from "In and Out".
We also want to welcome Matt and his new jeep rental business at the old jet ski rental
shack next to "The Dungeon"(ghst tours) . For jeep rental info call ( 928 ) 486-1524 or
check out www.jeeparizona.net.
Also, the closed down buildings like The Pub, Oasis, the old Golden Unicorn etc...are
currently under construction to be available for rent in the very near future. Our little slice
of England is alive and getting more beautiful everyday. 2009 should make for some
exciting changes and I encourage you to help support its revival. If you are interested in
having a riverfront business call : (928) 230- 4237
